Putin appoints Mikhail Petrakov as new Russian Ambassador to Australia
Russian President Vladimir Putin has appointed Mikhail Petrakov as the new Russian ambassador to Australia. This is stated in the decree of the head of state on August 21.
"Appoint Mikhail Ivanovich Petrakov as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to Australia," the text of the document says.
Petrakov was born in 1959. In 1982 he graduated from MGIMO University of the USSR Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Speaks English and Hindi. In 2018, he was awarded the diplomatic rank of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary.
