President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko plans to pay an official visit to China in the near future, where he will hold talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping. The head of state announced this on August 21 at a meeting on the development of rocket construction.
"This is also important in connection with my visit to the People's Republic of China and my conversation with Chinese President Xi Jinping, and we are planning such a meeting," the BelTA news agency quoted Lukashenko as saying.
He also noted that rocket engineering in Belarus began in close connection with the Chinese military-industrial complex. These contacts are still being maintained.
Xi Jinping said during a meeting with Lukashenko on June 4 that Beijing has always strategically considered and developed relations with Minsk. He also added that China is ready to continue working with Belarus to develop bilateral relations and mutually beneficial cooperation.
