As of the beginning of July this year, there were more than 72,000 plug-in hybrid vehicles (PHEVs) in Russia. This is almost a quarter more than at the beginning of the year (57.9 thousand units), Sergey Tselikov, director of the Autostat analytical agency, said on August 21 in his Telegram channel.

According to the analyst, the hybrid fleet surpassed the size of the fleet of pure electric vehicles (BEV) in Russia, which by mid-summer amounted to 65.2 thousand units.

The most common PHEV brand in the Russian fleet is Lixiang with a share of more than 44%. Voyah is in second place (20.3%). BMW, Mitsubishi, Aito, Wey, Volvo and others followed by a wide margin. The most common plug-in hybrids in Russia are Lixiang L7 (15.1 thousand units), Lixiang L9 (12.7 thousand units) and Voyah Free (11.4 thousand units).

In PHEV cars, the battery can be charged from an external electric current source.

The day before, it was reported that the most common electric car model in the Russian Federation is the Nissan Leaf, with 95% of the "Leafs" having the right steering wheel. Among electric cars with a left—hand drive, the most popular model is the Zeekr 001.
