There is a local shortage of gasoline in Primorye. Local motorists told Izvestia about their attempts to find fuel on August 21.

"I was lucky, it turned out, I found it, otherwise I would have to look for it. There is a shortage of gasoline in the city," said taxi driver Behruz, refueling the car.

You can't replenish your gasoline supply at every gas station. In some places, the 95th mark is missing, in others there is no 98th. However, some gas stations do not have two types at once.

According to local residents, the reason for the shortage could be supply problems and increased demand for fuel due to tourists. Also, amid reports of the situation, many decided to make stocks, creating an artificial shortage.

"There is not enough fuel, of course. Interruptions, maybe. Deliveries are delayed — that's the only reason," said Vladimir, a motorist.

The Minister of Energy of Primorsky Krai, Elena Shish, noted that the tourist flow to the region is exceeding 30%. She stressed that gasoline supplies go to all regions. Additional fuel trucks have also been sent to places where guests of the region congregate.

On August 18, the Trans-Baikal Territory introduced a temporary restriction on the sale of AI-95 gasoline. The AI-92 and AI-100 brands are sold without restrictions. On the same day, the price of AI-92 gasoline during trading on the St. Petersburg Stock Exchange updated the historical record recorded on September 18, 2023. The price of fuel exceeded 71 thousand rubles per 1 ton.

Earlier, on August 14, it was reported that the total ban on gasoline exports from Russia was extended for a month — until the end of September. And the missing volumes of fuel for the domestic market will be purchased from Belarusian producers. Such decisions were made at a government meeting chaired by Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak.
