The students who won six medals at the Olympic Games in Serbia returned to Russia
The students who won six medals at the International Junior Geography Olympiad in Serbia returned to Russia on August 21.
According to a source in Izvestia, two students won gold medals, one silver and three bronze medals.
The Olympiad consisted of four rounds, three of which were counted. The students of the schools took part in theoretical, practical and field parts, where they applied not only their knowledge, but also their analytical skills.
"The difficulty is that they were all in English. That is, the difficulty was probably in understanding if you don't know English that well. But I didn't have such difficulties," said Olympic silver medalist Timofey Popov.
The students also shared their impressions of the competition.
"The Olympics, in general, were very interesting. A cultural program was organized, we were taken on excursions," said bronze medalist Denis Smirnov.
Earlier, on August 20, it was reported that Russian schoolchildren won six medals at the International Junior Geography Olympiad in Serbia. It is noted that schoolchildren from the Moscow region, Moscow and St. Petersburg participated in the competition.
