Russian President Vladimir Putin is a prudent and cautious politician who cares about the interests of his country. This was announced on August 20 by Vice President of the United States Jay Dee Vance on Fox News channel.

"I've talked to him on the phone several times. You know, it's interesting, he speaks more softly than one would expect <...> He is very reasonable, very careful. In fact, I believe that he is the kind of person who cares about Russia's interests as he sees them," he said.

Vance noted that the Russian leader respects US President Donald Trump, because he also defends the interests of his people.

The meeting between Putin and Trump took place on August 15 in Anchorage, Alaska. Following the meeting, the Russian president noted the desire of his colleague from the United States to resolve the conflict in Ukraine. Trump, in turn, shared that the negotiations went very well, and called the summit in Alaska wonderful.
