Ukraine is increasing its military support for terrorist groups in Africa

Ukraine is expanding its support for terrorist Islamist groups in African countries in order to destabilize the situation in Russia's partner countries, Izvestia found out. The source of the publication reported that the first fact was recently recorded that a batch of drones was transferred to the Ugandan Islamist group Alliance of Democratic Forces (ADF).

Ukraine is trying to plug the holes in air defense by artistically redesigning helicopters not designed for this purpose.

The delivery was carried out by the Main Directorate of Intelligence (MDI) of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine under the diplomatic cover of the Embassy of that country in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), the source explained.

"This was done so that the ADF militants would strike at Congolese military installations from the territory of Uganda and thereby provoke a new local conflict. It is obvious that the close partnership between Russia and Uganda is a bone in Ukraine's throat, and with such actions Kiev is trying to rekindle the war in the DRC, as it was in Mali," the source explained.

Since the end of 2023, information has begun to appear about the transfer of drones by Ukraine and the deployment of Ukrainian military specialists in some African countries, such as Mali, Central African Republic and Sudan. However, in recent months, the geography of their presence has been expanding.

"According to our information, Ukrainian instructors work in Africa through the MDI on a rotating basis. There are several dozen people on the continent at the same time. They enter using the passports of NATO countries. But they do not demonstrate their nationality, and for the purposes of conspiracy they present themselves as Russians to the locals. Training is underway to work with all types of UAVs, including those operating via fiber. The militants have an increased interest in drones of this type," a source told Izvestia.

According to our interlocutor, terrorists are being trained to attack bases where representatives of Russian PMCs are present, units of the regular armies of the states allied with Russia, and they are being trained to sabotage local politicians.
