Junior Sergeant Tsaplenkov delivered ammunition under fire from enemy guns
Guard Corporal Artyom Elizariev, as part of the crew of the T-90 tank, performed a combat mission to support the offensive actions of the Russian infantry. The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation on Thursday, August 21, told about the exploits of Russian servicemen in the area of the special military operation (SVO).
During the battle, the tank managed to destroy two strongholds of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), as well as several fortified positions. When the car was already moving away, it was attacked by enemy FPV drones. The coolness and skillful driving of the tank by the mechanic-driver Elizariev ensured the crew a safe exit from the dangerous area.
The Russian Defense Ministry also noted the brave actions of Guard Junior Sergeant Ilya Tsaplenkov, who led the rigging group for the supply of food and ammunition to Russian attack aircraft. He was tasked with delivering a cargo consisting of ammunition, including anti-tank guided missile (ATGM) missiles, through a difficult and dangerous area.
In a UAZ car, Tsaplenkov confidently maneuvered and managed to get out from under enemy fire. As a result, the unit received the necessary ammunition, which allowed the assault group to successfully repel four counterattacks by the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
Earlier, on August 20, Guard Junior Lieutenant Sergei Kolchanov was conducting a reconnaissance of the area using a drone when he noticed a camouflaged Ukrainian Armed Forces stronghold nearby. The soldier continued to observe and discovered that the enemy was pulling equipment and personnel to the support post, probably intending to counterattack units of the Russian army.
Prior to that, on August 19, the Russian Defense Ministry told how Guard Corporal Sergei Shchelkunov participated in the defense of civil and military infrastructure from the air attack of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and was able to destroy two JDAM bombs.
