Italian tour guide died at the Colosseum
Tour guide Maria Giovanna Giomarino died during her work shift at the Colosseum. This was reported on August 20 by the RomaToday portal.
It is specified that the tragedy occurred on Tuesday, August 19. At first, the guide felt worse after climbing the stairs, then she lost consciousness. An ambulance arrived at the scene and tried to resuscitate the woman, but she died.
According to the portal, death occurred due to natural causes — as a result of cardiac arrest.
Italian athlete Mattia Debertolis died on August 12 after participating in the World Orienteering Games in Chengdu, China. It was reported that the man lost consciousness during the competition. Later, the organizers released a statement confirming Debertolis' death.
