The Russian Foreign Ministry expressed condolences over the accident in Afghanistan.

Russia expresses its condolences to the families and friends of the victims and wishes a speedy recovery to those injured in the accident in Herat province in Afghanistan. This was announced by the Russian Foreign Ministry on August 20. ​

"Russia is saddened by the news of a tragic road accident that occurred on the evening of August 19 in Herat province in western Afghanistan. Moscow expresses its sincere condolences to the families and friends of the victims, as well as wishes for a speedy recovery to the injured," the ministry's website says.

According to the Foreign Ministry, 76 people, including children, were killed in a collision between a passenger bus and a truck.

The accident in Afghanistan occurred earlier in the day. It was clarified that the bus model 580 was traveling from Islam Qala to Kabul and collided with a motorcycle and a truck on the ring road. After that, the passenger bus caught fire. Among the dead are elderly people, women, children, a bus driver, a motorcyclist and a truck driver.
