Shells from the Second World War were found in Bratislava
Artillery shells from the Second World War were found during construction work on Yavorinskaya Street in the center of Bratislava. This was announced on August 20 by the local SME portal.
"Police officers immediately carried out the necessary security measures at the scene, while a police pyrotechnic technician from the Bratislava Police Department for Emergency Situations also arrived at the scene in a short time. After conducting a thorough inspection of the site, he decided to evacuate the surrounding buildings <...>. The pyrotechnic technician constantly finds live ammunition on the spot," the police said.
It was decided not to block traffic at the site of the discovery.
Earlier, on August 5, the Suddeutsche Zeitung newspaper reported the discovery of a World War II bomb in Dresden. She was found during mine clearance work on the destroyed Karola Bridge.
