A high-alert regime has been introduced in the Irkutsk region of the Angara region due to heavy rains. Heavy rainfall can lead to an increase in the water level in rivers.

According to IrkutskMedia news agency, the high alert mode will be in effect from August 20 to 24. The relevant decision was made by the Emergency Situations Commission based on information from the Ministry of Emergency Situations. In the coming days, heavy rains are likely in the basins of the left-bank tributaries of the Angara and on small rivers from the south of Lake Baikal, which may lead to a sharp rise in water levels and the release of water into the floodplain.

The staff of the settlement administrations will monitor the condition of the reservoirs. Special equipment is ready. Locals are asked to be careful.
