The expert gave advice on choosing a sofa for sleeping
Many people believe that it is impossible to get a good night's sleep on the couch. However, this statement is true only if the wrong model is chosen. Ekaterina Perova, head of the upholstered furniture category of the Dyatkovo Design brand, told Izvestia on August 23 what a sofa should be like for daily sleep.
According to her, the first factor influencing the choice is the number of sofa users. For one person, models with transformation mechanisms such as "Tick-tock" or "Eurocook" are ideal, with a width of 120 cm and a length of 200 cm. The width options from 140 to 180 cm are suitable for couples. It is important that the transformation mechanism provides a flat surface for sleeping. The best options are the "Eurocook", "Accordion" and "MTD-12" mechanisms. You also need to take into account user rigidity preferences and weight differences.
As for fillers, the expert said, it is better to choose an array of wood for the frame, such as beech or birch, which will ensure durability. When choosing a filler, special attention should be paid to the spring blocks. A spring snake is a budget option, but its service life is limited. The Bonnel system is also available, but it loses its elasticity over time. The best choice is an independent spring block that adapts to body bends, does not creak and lasts a long time.
"Among spring-free fillers, there are: latex (a hypoallergenic material with an ideal balance of softness and support), high-density PU foam (a budget solution, but loses its shape over time), memoryform (has a memory effect, reduces stress on joints), holofiber and strutofiber (light and elastic materials, do not clump, but are inferior latex and PU foam in wear resistance)," said Perova.
She noted that the upholstery also plays an important role when choosing a sofa. Faux suede, flock, chenille and thick velour are ideal for durability and ease of care. These materials are resistant to damage, dirt, and puffs, making them suitable for families with children and pets. It is important to remember that chenille requires careful cleaning, and flock and eco-leather are hypoallergenic. Materials such as linen and cotton without impregnation should be avoided.
In addition, modern sofa models often offer additional features that make them more comfortable. Wide armrests can serve not only as a decorative element, but also as a place to store small items such as mobile phones or books. Some models have built-in niches in the armrests, which is especially important for small apartments. Linen drawers allow you to conveniently place bed linen and seasonal items, effectively using the space.
Before buying, the expert recommended testing the sofa: lie on it in different positions to assess comfort and ergonomics.
On August 13, Alexey Orekhov, an interior decoration expert and CEO of NATEK, spoke about common repair mistakes that can cause significant inconvenience in everyday life. According to him, tinted mirrors make it difficult to fix your hair or check your appearance before leaving home. Instead of a functional element of the interior, it turns out to be an object that interferes with habitual actions.
