Dietitian, PhD Elena Solomatina told how to eat in order not to stretch the stomach.

In an interview with Radio 1 on Wednesday, August 20, the expert noted that everyone needs to control portions, regardless of goals. She gave an example: lettuce and nuts are equally healthy, but their caloric content varies greatly, as do meat and greens. At the same time, the stomach is not bottomless, and it can be stretched with any food.

According to the expert, a stretched stomach produces more of the hunger hormone, which makes satiation more difficult. Portions, she added, can be adjusted for caloric content, volume, and nutrient density. As a guideline, she named the rule that meat or fish should fit in the palm of your hand, although it all depends on individual characteristics.

The nutritionist emphasized that the number and size of servings depend on lifestyle. Frequent fractional meals are suitable for some, while rare but more voluminous meals are suitable for others. During physical exertion, the diet must be adjusted to reflect activity.
