A library development program will be developed in the Leningrad Region. This instruction was given to the Committee of Culture by Governor Alexander Drozdenko during a meeting with the library community in Vyborg. The event was also attended by Sergey Stepashin, President of the Russian Book Union.

The head of the region complained that so far only 23 libraries in the Leningrad region meet modern requirements. He suggested "updating" at least five, preferably 10 libraries annually.

According to Drozdenko, 35% of residents in Vyborgsky district visit libraries, while only 10% in Vsevolozhsky district. He also opposed the incorporation of rural libraries into cultural and leisure centers.

"The approach of "here we have a disco, and here a library" is not suitable at all," the governor summed up, quoting him 78.ru .

Earlier, Izvestia wrote that Russia had approved an action plan for the second stage of the implementation of the Concept for the Development of Additional Education for children for 2025-2030. The main goal is to expand the system so that it meets the needs of every child.
