- The Russian Armed Forces stopped an attempt of sabotage by the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Black Sea
The Armed Forces of the Russian Federation (RF Armed Forces) stopped an attempted sabotage operation by the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) 72 km from the coast of Crimea. On August 20, the Russian Ministry of Defense published footage of the destruction of a Ukrainian boat.
"On the night of August 19-20, the Ukrainian Armed Forces attempted to carry out a sabotage operation in the Black Sea using amphibious boats," the report says.
The ministry clarified that these Ukrainian vessels were heading from Odessa towards the Crimean cape Tarkhankut. One of the boats was struck by the calculation of the Lancet barrage ammunition.
Calculations of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) of the Rubicon Test Center for Advanced Unmanned Technologies of the Russian Ministry of Defense participated in repelling the attack. For example, Russian Zala drones conducted reconnaissance of the area.
On the same day, the Federal Security Service (FSB) of Russia announced the suppression of an attempted sabotage in the Bryansk region. During the operation, three members of the Ukrainian sabotage and reconnaissance group (DRG) were detained, and three more were eliminated. The saboteurs found Western small arms, a large number of grenades and communications equipment. A criminal case has been opened under Part 1 of Article 30, paragraph "a" of part 2 of Article 281 ("Preparation for sabotage"). The agency also released footage of the detention.
