Trump noted the size and splendor of Crimea
On August 20, US President Donald Trump celebrated the beauty and splendor of the Crimean peninsula.
"He's beautiful. It's a huge piece of land,<...> right into the Black Sea, so beautiful. I mean, he's so wonderful," the American leader said in an interview with journalist Mark Levin, posted on his YouTube channel.
In addition, he emphasized the size of Crimea and the splendor of the peninsula, comparing its area with Texas.
Trump also said that the United States "did not give up Crimea," adding that "it was abandoned because of former US President Barack Obama," and the press, in turn, does not even mention this.
Earlier, on August 20, Columbia University professor and economist Jeffrey Sachs said that the return of Crimea to Ukraine was impossible. The economist recalled that the naval base in Crimea was founded by the Russian Empress Catherine the Great in 1783, and it became the basis of Russia's national security. Since that time, Western countries have wanted Russia to "get out of there."
