The death toll in road accidents in Afghanistan has increased to 79
At least 79 people were killed in an accident involving a bus, motorcycle and Mazda truck in Herat province in western Afghanistan. This was reported on August 20 by the Pajhwok agency, citing local authorities.
"At least 79 people <...> died <...> as a result of a traffic accident in the western province of Herat," the article says.
It is noted that 76 of the victims are migrants who have recently returned from Iran. According to the newspaper, three more people were injured, they were promptly taken to local hospitals.
The accident in Afghanistan became known earlier that day. It was clarified that the bus model 580 was traveling from Islam Qala to Kabul and collided with a motorcycle and a truck on the ring road. After that, the passenger bus caught fire. It was also reported that elderly people, women, children, a bus driver, a motorcyclist and a truck driver were among the dead.
