- The State Duma announced an increase in pensions for some categories of Russians in September.
State Duma deputy Svetlana Bessarab said that in September, Russians who turned 80 in August will begin receiving increased pensions.
"Those who turned 80 the previous month will start receiving a double fixed payment starting next month," the parliamentarian explained in an interview with aif.ru on Wednesday, August 20th.
In 2025, the fixed part of the insurance pension is set at 8,907 rubles and 70 kopecks. Additionally, citizens over the age of 80 are entitled to a monthly care allowance of 1,314 rubles.
On August 19, the Social Fund reported that the average old-age pension in Russia as of July 1 was 25098 rubles. At the same time, working pensioners receive an average of 22.1 thousand rubles, the website writes kp.ru . Non-working pensioners can expect a pension of 25.8 thousand rubles, according to 360.ru .
On August 16, State Duma deputy Alexei Govyrin, in an interview with RT, told which categories of citizens can expect to increase their pensions from the beginning of autumn. He explained that with a fixed payment of 8.9 thousand rubles, the amount doubles and reaches 17.8 thousand only due to this part. If care is provided, a monthly supplement is added: 1,314 rubles to the insurance pension or 1,377 rubles to the state pension — starting from the month when the right to care arose.
On August 14, the leader of Fair Russia For Truth, Sergei Mironov, proposed introducing a 13th pension for pensioners at the end of the year. He considers the measure to be fair: the extra money will help the elderly to please their grandchildren with gifts or arrange a festive table for the New Year, Moscow 24 notes.
