Moskvich may release a new crossover based on MG
The Moskvich automobile plant may release a new crossover based on the British-Chinese MG brand model. This was reported on August 20 by the Chinese Cars portal with reference to data from the register of declarations of conformity for a new model with the commercial name Moskvich M70. Obtaining this document is required for the certification of the model in the Russian Federation and the start of official sales.

The document shows the internal factory number (AS33), under which only one model is produced in China — the second-generation MG HS export-oriented crossover.
With a body length of 4655 mm and a wheelbase of 2765 mm, the MG HS in the model range of the Russian brand can be located between the Moskvich 3 and the new Moskvich 8. The car in the "base" is equipped with a 1.5-liter turbo engine with a capacity of 172 hp. in combination with a seven-speed "robot", the more powerful version has a two-liter 231-horsepower engine with a nine-speed automatic, front-wheel drive only.
The MG HS has a 24.6-inch dual monitor unit, and multimedia supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The central tunnel houses a transmission selector, a block of physical buttons, and wireless charging for a smartphone.
It is noteworthy that the certification of MG HS in Russia was announced earlier in July by Mir Distributor, which sells various models of this British-Chinese brand in Russia.
Earlier in the day, it was reported that the GAC GS4 crossover, equipped with an all-wheel drive system, will be available in Russia in September.
On July 22, sales of the new Moskvich 8 crossover began in Russia, the base version of the model was estimated at 2.98 million rubles. At the average performance level, the crossover costs from 3.21 million rubles, and at the maximum — from 3.37 million rubles.
