Almost 870,000 voters have applied to participate in remote electronic voting (DEG), which will be held in September in 24 regions of the country. This was announced on August 20 by the chairman of the Central Election Commission of the Russian Federation, Ella Pamfilova, during a meeting, the broadcast was published on the commission's website.

"Here you see 869,455 applications for DEG, which is actually a record high compared to last year," she said.

The submission of applications for the DEG started on July 28. Pamfilova added that the leaders in the number of applications for DEG were the Rostov region (179 thousand applications), the Chuvash Republic (143 thousand) and the Sverdlovsk Region (131 thousand).

In addition, according to the head of the CEC, more than 76.5 thousand people applied to participate in voting through the Mobile Voter platform. It allows Russian citizens to vote at their place of residence, being away from home and their polling station. Thus, 14 extraterritorial polling stations will be organized in Moscow, where elections of the heads of 19 subjects of the Russian Federation will be held.

"They [the sites] are formed in the most convenient and passable places of the city. These are the flagship offices of "My Documents" and public service centers in the largest shopping malls in all districts of the capital...> If you plan to be in Moscow during the election of the heads of regions, submit an application and come to any of these polling stations," Pamfilova concluded.

A single voting day will take place in less than 90 days.

Pamfilova announced on April 2 that voting by paper ballots would not be canceled in Russia during the elections. According to her, the Central Election Commission of the country considers that traditional voting using paper ballots is basic and basic.

On a single voting day on September 14, 20 governors, deputies of legislative assemblies of 11 subjects and deputies of city assemblies at the municipal level in 25 regions will be elected.
