Russian schoolchildren have won six medals at the International Junior Geography Olympiad in Serbia. This was announced on August 20 by the press service of the Government of the Russian Federation.

"The results of the International Junior Geography Olympiad have been summed up in Belgrade. Russian schoolchildren won six medals," reads the Telegram channel of the Cabinet of Ministers.

It is noted that schoolchildren from the Moscow region, Moscow and St. Petersburg participated in the competition. Dmitry Chernyshenko, Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation, congratulated the students on their victory.

"Russian schoolchildren have once again shown their outstanding abilities and high level of training in this field: our students have won six medals at the International Junior Geography Olympiad. This is the best result in terms of the number and dignity of awards among the participating countries," said the Deputy Prime Minister.

On August 8, Russian schoolchildren won eight medals at the international Olympiad among high school students in artificial intelligence (AI). This is the best result in terms of the number of gold medals among all participants. The Russian national team was trained by representatives of the Central University and the Alliance in the field of AI together with the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (MIPT).
