- The Estonian Prime Minister announced his readiness to send a company of soldiers to Ukraine
Estonia is ready to send a company of soldiers to the territory of Ukraine as part of the "coalition of the willing." This was announced on August 20 by Estonian Prime Minister Kristen Michal.
"Estonia is ready to provide Ukraine with its contingent of one company, sending it to the country as part of the coalition of the willing," the ERR television and radio company quoted him as saying.
At the same time, Michal clarified that it was too early to discuss the details of a possible mission. The Estonian Prime Minister noted that discussions on ways to ensure security, the nature of guarantees and the contribution of the United States and Europe should begin only after two- and three-way negotiations to resolve the conflict.
Earlier, on August 19, Bloomberg learned about the readiness of about 10 countries to send troops to Ukraine as part of providing possible security guarantees for Kiev. This was clarified during the summit of European officials held on the same day. According to the agency, the meeting of the leaders of the European Union (EU) with US President Donald Trump at the White House, which confirmed Washington's commitment to security guarantees, was a prerequisite for the relevant plans.
