- The Extreme Park on the FEFU campus will host the first guests at the WEF-2025
The construction of a complex for Russian and international extreme sports competitions has been completed in Vladivostok. The new extreme park, created with the support of the city administration, is located on the campus of the Far Eastern Federal University. The grand opening of the complex will take place during the tenth anniversary Eastern Economic Forum.
"Every Eastern Economic Forum becomes a bright event. The most pressing economic and social issues are discussed at the WEF venues, solutions are proposed for business development and improving people's quality of life, and investment agreements are signed. The Forum has become not only a platform for discussing cooperation and strengthening ties, but also a place for cultural exchange and strengthening the sports movement. Various events are planned during the Forum in Vladivostok, the capital of the Far Eastern Federal District, including the opening of a complex for Russian and international extreme sports competitions. Of course, it will be interesting for young active people, professional athletes and those who are just starting out and trying out various sports," said Yuri Trutnev, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, Presidential Plenipotentiary Representative in the Far Eastern Federal District, Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the Eastern Economic Forum.
The new complex with a total area of 11,000 square meters meets all international standards and is designed to host Russian and international extreme sports competitions. Not only professional riders, but also novice riders will be able to practice here. The modern space will attract residents and guests of the Far Eastern capital, as well as students living on campus, to active recreation.
In addition, there will be numerous recreation areas on the territory of the center, where visitors of all ages can spend time. In the free skating format, the complex can accommodate 200 people, and up to 100 people can train in the extreme park at the same time.
"Now the facility is fully ready, its grand opening is scheduled for the WEF-2025. Residents and guests of Vladivostok will be able to visit the extreme park as early as September, during the open days on Far East Street," said Oleg Kozhemyako, Governor of Primorsky Krai.
In honor of the anniversary of the Eastern Economic Forum, a time capsule laying ceremony will be held in the territory of the extreme park: children who are fond of extreme sports will leave a message to the younger generations.
"The capsule–shaped installation will become an elegant and symbolic accent of the new modern space," added the head of the Kozhemyako region.
The tenth Eastern Economic Forum will be held on September 3-6 in Vladivostok on the campus of the Far Eastern Federal University. The main theme of this year's event is "The Far East: Cooperation for Peace and Prosperity." The WEF is organized by the Roscongress Foundation.
