In Crimea, a woman was sentenced to 15 years in prison for transmitting photos of air defense to the intelligence service of Ukraine

The Supreme Court of the Republic of Crimea sentenced a 28-year-old resident of the region to 15 years in a penal colony for transferring photos of the Russian air defense forces to the Main Directorate of Intelligence (GUR) of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine. This was announced on August 20 by the press service of the regional prosecutor's office.

According to the agency, in March 2024, a woman, speaking out against a special military operation (SVO), joined the community of one of the social networks, which was managed by representatives of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.

The person involved in the case established contact with the channel's administrator and took photographs showing the locations of the air defense and deployment of personnel of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation. It is noted that she sent screenshots of geolocations with the location to the curator, for which she received more than 15 thousand rubles.

"The court, taking into account the position of the state prosecutor, sentenced the guilty party to 15 years in prison to serve her sentence in a correctional colony of general regime and restriction of liberty for one year and six months and a fine of 100,000 rubles," the message posted on the Telegram channel says.

On August 7, a court in Sevastopol sentenced a 52-year-old local resident to 14 years in prison for treason. It is specified that in the period from December 2023 to April 2024, the man was recruited through a messenger by an employee of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) to transmit information about the location of weapons and military facilities of the Russian army. He was found guilty under Article 275 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("High treason") and sentenced to 14 years in prison to be served in a high-security penal colony with a one-year restriction of liberty.
