Witkoff calculated the time he spent with Putin and his team
US President's Special Envoy Steven Witkoff spent a total of about 25 hours in the company of Russian leader Vladimir Putin and his aides. He announced this on Fox News channel on August 20.
"I probably have about 24-25 hours," the special envoy said, answering a question about the amount of time he spent with the Russian president.
Among the representatives of the Russian Federation with whom he was in contact, Witkoff also named Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and Russian Presidential aide Yuri Ushakov.
Witkoff has already visited Russia several times. He arrived in Moscow for the last time on August 6. During the visit, the special envoy of the US president held a meeting with Putin in the Kremlin. Their conversation lasted about three hours.
Later, Ushakov shared that Putin and Witkoff discussed the conflict in Ukraine and the prospects for the possible development of Russian-American strategic cooperation. US President Donald Trump called their meeting productive and reported great progress following the talks.
