Freight train collided with car in Krasnoyarsk region

In the Krasnoyarsk Territory, a freight train collided with a passenger car at a railway crossing. This was announced on August 20 by the West Siberian Transport Prosecutor's Office in the Telegram channel.

"At a regulated railway crossing located between the stations Koshurnikovo and Stofato of the Krasnoyarsk Railway in the Kuraginsky district of the Krasnoyarsk Territory, a freight train collided with a foreign—made car," the department said.

It is noted that before the accident, the driver ignored the forbidding traffic light signal and drove into the train's track. There was no derailment of the rolling stock as a result of the accident.

All the circumstances of the accident are currently being investigated.

Earlier, on August 7, a passenger train collided with a truck in the Ulyanovsk region. It was noted that the prosecutor's office has begun checking compliance with the requirements for the safety of railway transport.

On August 4, a source from Izvestia reported that an accident with a tour bus had occurred in the Leningrad Region. Later, the press service of the Oktyabrskaya Railway stated that the departure of the tour bus on the way in front of the approaching train caused an accident at the crossing. As a result of this incident, one person was killed and 16 others were injured.
