The number of flooded areas in the Tavrichesky district of the Omsk region has increased to 195. This was announced on August 20 by the press service of the Main Directorate (GU) of the Ministry of Emergency Situations in the region.

It is noted that, in addition to land plots, 65 private residential buildings were hit by the elements in the area — all of them were located in low-lying areas.

"The district administration is carrying out excavation work on drainage, digging trenches, pumping water, and cleaning storm drains from drainage channels. Involved are: 4 pumping stations, seven excavators, 10 sewage disposal barrels, 23 motor pumps, two trucks, eight passenger cars, one loader, two manipulators," the department said.

In addition, 10 private residential buildings and 10 household plots were flooded in the Kirov administrative district of Omsk.

Earlier, on August 17, the number of flooded houses in the Omsk region was 64. In addition, 90 household plots were affected by the flood. On the same day, the governor of the Omsk region, Vitaly Khotsenko, reported flooding of 28 houses as a result of heavy rainfall in the Tavrichesky district. The head of the region said that at a meeting of the Commission for the prevention and elimination of emergency situations (CES), it was decided to introduce a high-alert regime in the area.
