The crew of the T-90M "Breakthrough" tank conducted night practice shooting at a training ground in the Southern Military District. Footage of the destruction of a simulated enemy was shown by the Russian Defense Ministry on Wednesday, August 20.

"During the night shooting, we hit an infantry fighting vehicle, a concrete shelter and a place of concentration of a simulated enemy," the tank commander with the call sign Lemon listed.

The fire was directed at emerging and moving targets. The distance to the target was up to 2 km, high-explosive fragmentation and armor-piercing shells of 125 mm caliber were used.

Firing was adjusted using an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV). Also, as part of the practical shooting, the skills of working with thermal imagers and standard night vision devices were worked out.

"Night training at the training ground is very important, because, from my own experience, I can tell you that there are direct fire attacks even at night. And it will be easier to navigate after night shooting at the range, even for new crews, since they will already know the approximate silhouettes of a particular technique," said Limon.

Earlier, on August 19, it was reported that the Caspian Flotilla of the Russian Navy (RF Navy) launched a bilateral tactical training exercise with the development of tasks for the purpose in the offshore combat training grounds of the Caspian Sea.
