Lavrov and North Korean Foreign Minister Choi Song-hee exchanged messages
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and North Korean Foreign Minister Choi Song-hee exchanged messages on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the liberation of the Korean Peninsula. This was reported on August 20 by the Central Telegraphic Agency of Korea (KCNA).
"Today, the traditions of friendship and mutual assistance laid down by our ancestors are being strengthened by the participation of North Korean soldiers in the operation to liberate the Kursk region occupied by Ukrainian neo-Nazi elements. <> The Russian people will never forget the feat of the North Korean soldiers," the agency quotes a fragment of Lavrov's telegram sent on August 15.
It is noted that in his message, the Russian diplomat also mentioned the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership Agreement between the DPRK and the Russian Federation and promised to "do everything possible to implement this agreement."
The DPRK Foreign Minister sent her reply on the 16th. Choi Song-hee expressed her conviction in expanding and strengthening the strategic cooperation and alliance between the two countries.
On August 15, Honored Artist of Russia SHAMAN (real name Yaroslav Dronov) performed in the DPRK capital Pyongyang at a concert in honor of the 80th anniversary of the liberation of the country. The event was attended by North Korean Leader Kim Jong-un.
On the same day, Kim Jong-un announced the joint opposition of the Russian Federation and the DPRK to neo-Nazism. He also added that both countries have always been "on the right side of history" and have constantly fought for equality and justice.
