In the Trans-Baikal Territory, a local resident is accused of rehabilitating Nazism and inciting hatred. This was announced on August 20 by the Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia (SU TFR) in the Trans-Baikal Territory.

"Since September 2023, the accused has systematically posted public comments in one of the messengers containing offensive language that degrades the dignity of a group of people based on nationality, and openly supported the ideology of Nazism," the department's Telegram channel said.

It is noted that the criminal actions were stopped by employees of the Federal Security Service (FSB).

A criminal case was opened on this fact under Part 4 of Article 354.1 ("Rehabilitation of Nazism committed using the Internet") and paragraph "b" of Part 1 of Article 282 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Incitement to hatred committed using the Internet and involving justification or propaganda of violence").

Earlier, on August 13, a 51-year-old resident of the Gatchina district of the Leningrad region was detained for desecrating symbols of military glory after publishing a provocative post on the Internet. A criminal case was opened into the rehabilitation of Nazism.
