The dates of the trilateral summit of the leaders of Russia, the United States and Ukraine depend on the results of the preliminary meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and the head of the Kiev regime, Vladimir Zelensky. "It's hard to say. I think he [US President Donald Trump — Ed. He wants to see how the bilateral meeting will go," she said.
On August 19, Leavitt reported that the United States was discussing with Ukraine and Russia a variety of possible venues for a meeting between Putin and Zelensky. When asked by a journalist about holding talks between the leaders of the three countries in Moscow, she refused to answer, citing the private nature of the discussions.
On August 18, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky and Trump met at the White House. The closed-door talks lasted about 30 minutes. After that, the American and Ukrainian presidents talked with the leaders of the European Union countries.
