In Transbaikalia, 10% of the required volume of hay was harvested

The campaign to harvest livestock feed continues in the farms of the Trans-Baikal Territory. 113 thousand tons of hay have already been harvested, or 10.7% of the required volume for wintering animals, according to the Telegram channel of the regional Ministry of Agriculture.

Work is underway in 23 municipalities, writes ChitaMedia news agency. The leader is Krasnokamensk district, where 14.5 thousand tons of hay were mowed. This is followed by Chernyshevsky district with 10.2 thousand tons and Kalgansky district with 9.1 thousand tons of hay.

As the ministry added, due to the heavy rains, the rate of hay harvesting is slightly lower than a year earlier. Despite this, the herbage is good and the feed will be harvested in full.

The plan for foraging for the upcoming wintering of farm animals in the region is about 1 million tons. An operational headquarters has been established to monitor the forage harvesting campaign and identify problematic issues.
