Markets are being cleaned of artisanal alcohol in Sochi

Law enforcement officers stopped the work of 13 outlets selling counterfeit alcohol in the village of Sirius. More than 500 liters of illegal alcohol-containing products were seized, the press service of the local police reported.

Three protocols have been drawn up against the owners under the article "Violation of the rules for the sale of ethyl alcohol, alcoholic and alcohol-containing products." In five other cases, administrative investigations have been launched into the illegal retail sale of alcohol by private individuals.

Also, an enterprise selling alcohol without a license was found on the territory of the village, writes KrasnodarMedia news agency. All seized products were sent for chemical and toxicological examination to verify their composition and safety.

Earlier in August, after a series of fatal cases of poisoning with homemade tea, the Kazachy market was temporarily closed in Sirius. Work continues to clarify all the circumstances of the incident, and two local residents have been detained.
