Corn starch production plant to be built in Stavropol region
A new plant for the production of modified corn starch will be built in Stavropol by 2028. The facility will be located in the Sovetsky District, the head of the region, Vladimir Vladimirov, said on his social networks on Tuesday, August 19.
It is expected that 65 new jobs will be created at the enterprise, it will be able to produce up to 16 thousand tons of products per year when reaching full capacity. Annual tax deductions will amount to 1 billion rubles, writes IA StavropolMedia.
"Today, more than two thirds of the modified starch on the Russian market is imported. By developing production in our region, we will be able to reduce dependence on foreign supplies," the governor explained.
According to Vladimirov, the plant's products will be in demand in the food and pharmaceutical industries. Starch is used in the production of sauces, yoghurts, confectionery and tablet medicines.
It is assumed that the construction of the facility will help achieve the goals of the national project "Technological food security". Anton Doronin, Head of the Regional Ministry of Economic Development, will provide support in the implementation of the project.
Earlier in August, it was reported that a tire processing plant would be opened in Stavropol to turn tires into rubber chips, which would later be used to make rubber tiles. More than 50 million rubles will be invested in the construction and launch of the facility.
