Blasting operations are underway in the Murmansk region on the 20th km of the Cola Lotta highway. They began on Tuesday, June 19, and will last until August 23 inclusive.
According to the Bi-Port news agency, with reference to the regional Ministry of Emergency Situations, drivers and local residents are asked to remain vigilant and stay at least 600 m away from the boundaries of the blast zone.
Every day from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., workers will loosen the soil at the Olkhovoe Lake construction stone deposit. The rescue department stressed that all work is planned. Dangerous areas will be fenced off to ensure the safety of citizens.
Earlier, on July 1, Rosatom announced the construction dates of power units No. 1 and No. 2 of the Kola NPP-2. The project will be implemented from 2027 to 2037. This was reported by the press service of Rosatom with reference to the head of the state corporation Alexei Likhachev. "The capacity of each power unit is 600 MW. The service life of the main equipment is 80 years. Construction is planned from 2027 to 2037," the press service said on the Telegram channel.
