UK detained the driver in the case of providing unsafe jipping services in Sochi

A suspect has been detained in Sochi in a criminal case involving the death of holidaymakers while jipping. This was announced on August 19 by the Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Krasnodar Territory.

"An investigator of the investigative department for the Adler district of Sochi of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Krasnodar Territory detained a 21-year—old suspect," the agency said in a Telegram channel message.

According to investigators, on August 17, the suspect provided citizens with a paid jipping service. While driving a UAZ Patriot over rough terrain near the village of Krasnaya Volya in Sochi, the driver lost control and "tipped over" the vehicle onto a road fence. Five passengers between the ages of 18 and 42 and the driver himself were injured. The injured were taken to local hospitals.

It is specified that the head of the Investigative Committee, Alexander Bastrykin, has been presented with a report on the investigation of the criminal case and the established circumstances. A criminal case has been opened into the provision of "jipping" services that do not meet the requirements for the safety of life and health of consumers (paragraphs "a, b" of Part 2 of Article 238 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).

The department added that they will apply for the detention of the suspect.

On August 17, a fatal accident occurred during a jipping in the Lazarevsky district of Sochi. In the village of the Third Company, the UAZ driver lost control on a turn, the car flew off the road and overturned, hitting the guardrail. A 24-year-old man and a 16-year-old teenager were killed, and seven more people were injured.
