Medvedev: the coalition of those who want conflict with Russia has not outplayed Trump in his field

The leaders of the European Union (EU) member states, who together form a "coalition of the willing," were unable to beat US President Donald Trump on his territory. This was announced on August 19 by Dmitry Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council.

"The anti—Russian militant "coalition of the willing" could not outplay the US president on his territory," he wrote on the social network X (formerly Twitter).

Medvedev stressed that at the moment the question is what kind of rhetoric Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky will choose in the context of security guarantees.

Earlier, on the evening of August 18, Zelensky and Trump met at the White House. The closed-door talks lasted about 30 minutes. After that, Zelensky and Trump began a conversation with the leaders of the EU countries.

During the meeting, Trump clarified that in a week or two the prospects for resolving the conflict in Ukraine through negotiations would become clear. He also stressed that there are no "too complicated" issues in the Ukrainian settlement.
