U.S. and European officials are going to immediately begin work on providing Ukraine with reliable security guarantees. This was reported by Bloomberg on August 19, citing informed sources.
According to the sources, the security guarantees will be aimed at strengthening Ukraine's armed forces and capabilities without any restrictions.
"The goal is to avoid Russia's demands to limit the size of Kiev's armed forces as part of a future agreement to end the conflict," the article says.
The sources also said that the security package would be based on the work of the Coalition of the Willing, a European group led by Britain and France, and was expected to include multinational forces.
"At Monday's meeting, the leaders demonstrated broad support for safeguards similar to Article 5, the NATO mutual defense clause originally proposed by Italian Prime Minister Giorgi Meloni, but warned that their exact details and the role of the United States must first be worked out by officials," the agency wrote.
The conversation between President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky and President of the United States Donald Trump at the White House took place on August 18. Later, the head of the Kiev regime said that security guarantees for Ukraine would be finalized and displayed on paper in 7-10 days.
