A resident of the Stanichno-Lugansk region of the LPR told about the spread of the fire

The fire engulfed the Stanichno-Lugansky district of the Lugansk People's Republic (LNR) almost instantly, due to the strong wind, the flames quickly spread to houses. This was reported to Izvestia on August 19 by a local resident, Anna.

"A lot of houses burned down, unfortunately, we were not spared either. Mom has been here for ten years or more, and eventually everything went down the drain," the woman explained, adding that she did not catch the moment of the fire.

She also noted that everything "happened instantly."

The People's Front announced that civil servants were being forced to fight fire, but the volunteer units did not confirm the information.

Earlier that day, it became known that 60 people had been evacuated and 11 injured as a result of the fire. It is noted that the flames engulfed 130 hectares, and about 100 buildings were damaged by fire.

On August 18, an emergency situation regime was introduced in the Stanichno-Lugansk district due to fires. In addition, an operational headquarters has been set up, and fire and rescue units are working at the site of the fire.
