A station of the same name on the Arbatsko-Pokrovskaya metro line has begun to be built in the Golyanovo district of Moscow, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said. It will appear in the center of the district — at the intersection of Ussuriyskaya and Sakhalinskaya streets.

"The metro will become closer for 230,000 Muscovites. Many will be able to get to it on foot," Sobyanin wrote on the MAX network. He noted that due to the construction of the station, Shchelkovskoye highway will be unloaded and the travel time by public transport will be reduced by 15-20 minutes.

The new station will have two lobbies, Sobyanin said. Specialists will integrate it into the surrounding buildings and create a new public space in this way. The first shield on the Shchelkovskaya—Golyanovo section is scheduled to go off in November.

Earlier, Sobyanin said that the Moscow authorities plan to build more than 30 more metro stations in the coming years. According to him, the construction of four stations of the Troitskaya line — Vavilovskaya, Akademicheskaya, Krymskaya and ZILA - will be completed in 2025. In 2026, it is planned to open the first stations of the new 17th line - Rublevo—Arkhangelskaya.

All important news is on the Izvestia channel in the MAX messenger.
