A native of Central Asia has been detained in Udmurtia, who was preparing to set fire to a railway train and justify a terrorist act in the Crocus City Hall concert hall near Moscow. Footage of the detention was published on August 19 by the FSB's Public Relations Center.

"As a result of the events held in the city of Glazov, a native of one of the countries of the Central Asian region was detained, who was preparing to set fire to a railway train, as well as justifying the terrorist attack in the Crocus City Hall concert hall on social networks and the Telegram messenger," the statement said.

The criminal case was initiated under Part 1 of Article 30, Part 1 of Article 205 ("Preparation for a terrorist act"), part 2 of Article 205.2 ("Public calls for terrorist activities, public justification of terrorism or propaganda of terrorism using the Internet") of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. The defendant was taken into custody by court order.

Earlier, on August 12, a resident of the Chelyabinsk region was sentenced to six years in a penal colony for calling for terrorist attacks. The attacker was arrested in August 2024 for supporting a terrorist organization and calling for terror against the government on the Internet. The man was also banned from website administration for three years.
