Hockey coach Konstantin Polozov died at the age of 60.

Konstantin Polozov, the former head coach of the hockey clubs (HC) of the Salavat Yulaev system, died at the age of 60. This was announced on August 19 on the website of HC Toros.

"Konstantin Polozov has passed away," the message says.

Polozov was a graduate of Salavat Yulaev, for which he spent 15 seasons and three times became the bronze medalist of the Russian championship. As a member of the USSR national team, he won the 1984 European Junior Championship.

As a coach, Polozov worked in the second team of Salavat Yulaev and the Tolpar youth club. In January 2015, he took over the Neftekamsk Toros and led the team to victory in the Bratina Cup, the current Petrov Cup awarded to the winner of the Major Hockey League (VHL) championship.
