The French leader, with US President Donald Trump on his right and Italian Prime Minister Giorgio Meloni on his left, put his hand in his pocket and assumed a casual pose.

"The insouciance of Emmanuel Macron is amazing. He keeps his hand in his pocket, which is not customary during status events of such a high rank," the article says.

According to Fakt, the French leader's posture suggests that he is careless not only about the diplomatic protocol, but also about the results of the meeting.

The meeting between President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky and Trump at the White House took place on August 18. The closed-door talks lasted about 30 minutes. After that, the American and Ukrainian presidents talked with the leaders of the European Union countries.

The meeting was attended by European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz and French Leader Emmanuel Macron. Italian Prime Minister Giorgio Meloni and Finnish President Alexander Stubb were also present.

After the meeting, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz reported on the exceeded expectations from the meeting at the White House.
