Polish tennis player Iga Swientek became the winner of the Women's Tennis Association (WTA) 1000 tournament in Cincinnati, beating Italian Jasmine Paolini. The match took place on August 19 and ended with a score of 7:5, 6:4.
According to the match statistics, Schwentek made nine aces, made seven double faults and converted all six break points. Paolini made two mistakes on the second serve and made four break points out of 10, Sport-Express adds.
Thanks to this victory, the Polish woman rose to second place in the WTA rankings, while Paolini occupies the eighth position.
Italian tennis player and world number one Yannick Sinner withdrew from the finals of the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) Masters tournament in Cincinnati on August 18. It was clarified that during the break between the games, the athlete called a doctor and complained of feeling unwell.
