Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi said during talks with Indian Foreign Minister Subramaniam Jaishankar that China would resume supplies of fertilizers and rare earth metals to India. This was reported on August 19 by the Hindustan Times (HT) newspaper.

"India and China recorded positive bilateral results when Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi assured <...> that his country would resume much—needed supplies of fertilizers, rare earth minerals and tunneling machinery (TBM)," the publication said.

According to the newspaper, this is one of the steps towards normalization of relations between the two countries.

Earlier, on July 13, Indian Mining Minister Kishan Reddy said that India would increase the production of rare earth magnets due to a reduction in supplies from China. The minister said that the country is currently actively working on the creation of appropriate equipment. He added that it will take from three to four months.
