Doctors gave advice on maintaining health during the changing seasons
To make the transition from summer to autumn rarely go unnoticed by the body, you need to follow a few simple recommendations, doctors told Izvestia.
Temperature fluctuations and reduced daylight hours force the body to spend additional resources, said Olga Chistik, a therapist at the Scandinavian Health Center.
Lack of sunlight reduces the production of vitamin D, as a result, the immune system becomes less stable, which means that the risk of colds and other diseases increases.
"People experience fatigue, drowsiness, decreased attention span, and mood swings. Colds, headaches or muscle pain, and skin and hair deterioration are not uncommon. Chronic diseases, including allergies, may also worsen," the doctor explained.
To help the body, she recommended following a sleep pattern: going to bed and getting up at the same time, sleeping at least 7-8 hours. Give up gadgets before going to bed.
"It is useful to ventilate the room and keep the air moist. Dinner should be light and no later than two hours before bedtime," the doctor added.
According to her, a varied diet with enough protein, complex carbohydrates and fats, as well as regular physical activity will help strengthen the immune system.
Fatigue, anxiety, or melancholy are a natural reaction to a change in rhythms, psychologist and family therapist Olesya Kushnareva added.
"Small rituals help to support yourself: a walk in the afternoon, tea with spices in the evening, meetings with loved ones, reading or music before going to bed," she recommended.
If the accumulated problems have worsened in the off-season, it is worth seeking support from a psychologist, the expert emphasized.
