Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky received advice from European allies before meeting with US President Donald Trump at the White House. This was reported on August 18 by NBC News.

It is noted that the leaders of the European Union (EU) countries probably wanted to give Zelensky advice after his disastrous meeting with Trump in February. British Prime Minister Keir Starmer advised the head of the Kiev regime to wear a jacket before visiting the White House.

The British leader also told Zelensky to thank Trump for providing weapons and diplomatic assistance, as well as to send a letter from his wife, Elena Zelenskaya, to Melania Trump through him.

Zelensky and US President Donald Trump met at the White House on August 18. The closed-door talks lasted about 30 minutes. After that, Zelensky and Trump met with the leaders of the European Union countries.

European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz and French Leader Emmanuel Macron are taking part in the meeting. Italian Prime Minister Giorgio Meloni and Finnish President Alexander Stubb are also present.

At the trilateral meeting, NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte declared his readiness to provide security guarantees for Ukraine as part of the conflict settlement. Trump said that Russia is not against Ukraine receiving security guarantees.
