- The Moldovan Victory Party has submitted an application for registration in the parliamentary elections.
The opposition Victory Party (Victorie) has submitted the necessary documents to register for the Moldovan parliamentary elections. This was announced on August 18 by the political bloc of the same name in the Telegram channel.
"The Victorie party, a member of the Victory bloc, has submitted an application for registration for the parliamentary elections," the statement said.
It is noted that the Central Election Commission (CEC) had previously refused to register participants. At the same time, all the requirements for submitting an application were met, the block noted, adding that they consider this decision to be politically motivated and illegal.
"The Victorie Party expects a transparent and honest review of the documents. We will challenge any formal pretexts for refusal of registration in court and international instances," the political association noted.
Earlier, on August 17, the Moldovan police reported that 69 people were detained at the protest of the opposition bloc Pobeda, 148 protocols were drawn up due to various offenses. The participants of the rally demanded the release of political prisoners and an end to repression against the opposition.
On the same day, Ilan Shor, the leader of the Pobeda opposition bloc, called on the local and district authorities of Moldova to disobey the ruling party. He also called on citizens to take to the streets starting on August 23. He believes that only through disobedience will it be possible to achieve results.
