One person was killed and three injured in an accident in the Tver region. This was announced on August 18 by Maxim Gromov, the platoon commander of the department of internal security of the Highway Patrol Service (DPS) of the State Traffic Inspectorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the region.
"Today, on August 18, at about 19:40 Moscow time, a traffic accident occurred on the 169th km of the federal highway M-10, as a result of which one person was killed, three were injured in various degrees of severity," Gromov said, his statement was quoted by TASS.
According to him, two of the victims are children. The circumstances of the accident are currently being clarified, and an operational service is on site.
The press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the region in the Telegram channel added that there was a collision between a truck and a car. Rescuers of the Ministry of Emergency Situations have released the trapped passengers.
Earlier in the day, the State Traffic Inspectorate told Izvestia that over the past weekend, 716 accidents occurred on Russian roads, in which 77 people were killed and 899 injured. Three children were killed: two were drivers of motor vehicles, one was a passenger.
